Debra has, for as long as she can remember, been crazy, over-the-top about inventing and creating.
“My mother told me that when I was in the third grade I told her, ‘Don’t buy me any more dolls and stuff like that. I want paint-by-number sets.’”
It is what drives Debra’s life and gives it shape and meaning. A day in which she cannot squeeze in time to paint is like a day without sunshine.
“Three years ago I stumbled upon alcohol inks and cannot even consider using my previous media again. They are so amazing and vivid and play so beautifully together. Alcohol paintings happen faster than other media in my hands. I find painting them like eating chips or something. Watching the ink interact is compelling. It’s hard to stop. I am just going to keep painting with them nd thoroughly enjoying myself.”
